Folks over at r/landscaping said I should post this here. They also said that the unanimous answer would be that the lawn tech is using a Scott’s fertilizer spreader. Don’t let them down.

I don’t even own a spreader and I say it’s a Scott’s spreader issue as well.
OR there’s a very large snake slithering through your neighborhood.

Duck tape the tires to your Scott’s spreader
The darker green path is very clearly the path that was walked by whoever was using the crappy spreader to put down fertilizer
To me it looks like someone fertilized with a drop spreader. The Scott’s spreaders usually leave two lines where the product gets stuck in the back of the hollow wheels and falls out.
They’re absolutely correct. Certain Scotts spreaders do this. The design is flawed and fertilizer gets trapped inside the wheels and ends up clumping up in the wheels tracks giving you what you have in the photo. Some say if you’re walking at a brisk pace it helps alleviate the issue but the best solution is to get a better spreader.
I’ll call you the hottie with the Scotty
Apart from being a a bad spreader to begin with, that’s the laziest application I’ve seen lol
Scotts Spreader…
Get an Echo RB-60, and this won’t happen again. For now, do nothing…it’ll take a few weeks for that darker growth to wear off…
Scott’s.
Scott’s called, he’s got your fertilizer up in his wheels
If you’re paying someone to service your lawn please send them this picture and request your money back or a couple future visits for free. They are using a cheap and crappy spreader on your lawn
You see the majority of answers on here all say the same thing,so there is your answer.Cheap spreader equals crappy looking lawn.Get a better spreader = better looking lawn or fire your landscapers and find a company that doesnt use cheap scott spreaders which may be hard to find? Most companies i know use the cheap spreader but im.sure there are a few that get it and buy the better one
Underground pyramids
Get some iron and out it down it will green up the rest.

Looks like the beach of Ipanema. People would pay for this.
I am thinking liquid sprayer (maybe a hose end), spraying back and forth while walking backwards.

maybe someone ran a soaker hose across the lawn in that pattern.
Your lawn has been inspired by a sine wave clearly.
Obviously crop circles…

Swept the lawn like this
Agree that this is from your yard service but don’t think it’s a granular spreader issue. Most lawn companies spray a liquid. In this case they didn’t get good coverage and sprayed only where you see the deep green. Imagine how good it could look if they sprayed the whole lawn evenly!
I would say your lawn service used a drop spreader and half assed it.
I see everyone talk about how awful the scotts broadcast spreader is. Are the drop spreaders just as bad?
Natural frequency
The grass is trying to talk to you and those are sound waves
Someone needs to watch the user tutorial again
Looks like a Scott’s and a bad pattern collided
Whatever was used it looks like your yard wants more of it.
Is it plausible that OPs windows are burning the lawn a bit?
It’s a very unconventional/incorrect pattern to apply fertilizer with—but I’m kind of impressed by the uniformity of the waves if I’m being honest.
Why the hate on scotts? Been using Scotts (SR 2000)spreaders thousands of lawns over the last 20 years never did that. Yall must be talking bout their cheapo homeowner model?
I’ve seen Tru Green spread fert this badly on people’s lawns before
Yup, they walked right to left, thinking it was spreading. Should have had it on light spread and then did up and down too.
I don’t understand why people don’t overlap just walk straight up and down when applying fertilizer or seed. That’s what the back of the package states. To slightly overlap your previous application.
use a much smaller broom next time.
Isn’t it because of the sunlight being blocked by those trees??? It’s almost a perfectly replicated pattern.
Your lawn is going into VTach
Snake, snake, snake in the grass
Regardless of a “spreader malfunction” they were being lazy with the application
It’s supposed to be a lawn, not a graphing calculator.
